Emergency Nurse Manager / Turnaround Lead

Lyme Regis Care Home is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Emergency Nurse Manager to join our leadership team and help drive a significant improvement programme across the service.
This is not a maintenance role. We are looking for a hands-on turnaround specialist who has successfully improved nursing homes, strengthened governance systems, improved clinical standards and prepared services for regulatory inspection.
You will work closely alongside the Registered Manager, Consultant, Responsible Individual and wider leadership team to deliver rapid and sustainable improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide visible clinical leadership across the home.
- Support and mentor nurses, carers and team leaders.
- Improve medication management and clinical governance.
- Review incidents, accidents, safeguarding concerns and complaints.
- Drive improvements in care planning and documentation.
- Lead clinical audits and quality assurance processes.
- Improve staff accountability and performance management.
- Support recruitment, retention and workforce development.
- Ensure compliance with CQC regulations and Fundamental Standards.
- Develop robust action plans and ensure completion.
- Prepare the service for inspections and external visits.
- Work collaboratively with residents, relatives and professionals.
Essential Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RGN or RMN) with active NMC PIN.
- Minimum 3 years’ nursing home management experience.
- Proven experience improving underperforming services.
- Strong knowledge of CQC regulations and governance systems.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to challenge poor practice and drive change.
- Full right to work in the UK.
Desirable
- Previous turnaround or crisis management experience.
- Experience achieving Requires Improvement to Good outcomes.
- Multi-site or regional management experience.
- Nurse Prescriber qualification.
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 3 months
Pay: £300.00 per day
