About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Practice Manager to work alongside our GP Partners to ensure the smooth, efficient, and compliant running of our practice. This is a strategic and operational leadership role, responsible for supporting long-term planning while overseeing day-to-day performance, governance, finance, and people management.
You will represent the practice externally within the Primary Care Network and wider healthcare community, while leading and supporting an experienced operational team.
About Us
We are a community-focused GP practice providing high-quality care to over 8,000 patients. We are a GP and student nurse training practice and are early adopters of digital innovation, AI, and automation to improve patient services and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the effective day-to-day management of the practice.
- Oversee contracts, including PCN, QOF, enhanced services, and public health programmes.
- Support financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and business planning.
- Work with Partners to develop and deliver strategic objectives.
- Lead, support, and develop managers and staff through effective appraisal and performance processes.
- Ensure robust clinical and non-clinical governance, including CQC compliance, audits, and risk management.
- Oversee operational functions including IT, premises, suppliers, and digital systems.
- Develop effective internal and external communications and patient engagement initiatives.
- Build strong relationships with external stakeholders, including the Primary Care Network and local health partners.
About You
You will be an experienced leader with a strong understanding of Primary Care and a collaborative, solutions-focused approach.
Essential
- At least 3 years' leadership experience within a Primary Care setting.
- Experience managing budgets, financial processes, and forecasting.
- Strong people management, performance management, and staff development skills.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and relationship-building abilities.
- Proven ability to lead change, improve services, and deliver projects.
- Strong IT skills and confidence using digital systems.
- High levels of integrity, professionalism, and discretion.
- Ability to build effective relationships with staff, patients, partners, and external organisations.
Desirable
- Leadership or management qualification.
- Additional experience in financial planning and business development.
- Experience working with governance, compliance, and quality improvement systems.
