About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Wellbeing Advisor to support neurodivergent individuals specifically those with dyslexia across Nottingham and the surrounding areas, driving license and own vehicle is required. This role is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing tailored wellbeing support that empowers individuals to navigate challenges in mental health, employment, and daily life.
As a Wellbeing Advisor, you will work closely with adults with Dyslexia , offering individualised guidance and practical strategies with to help with reading and writing with the aim to support them develop confidence, independence, and resilience. Your work will focus on promoting mental wellbeing, social inclusion, and employability skills while ensuring that each person receives the support they need to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialised advice and practical strategies to support with reading and writing difficulties.
- Guidance on tools, government schemes and associations who can support our clients and their specific needs.
- Provide specialised wellbeing support to neurodivergent individuals, focusing on mental health, confidence-building, and self-advocacy.
- Practical guidance on tools and schemes available to support those with dyslexia in the workplace.
- Offer practical strategies to help clients manage daily challenges related to executive functioning, social communication, and sensory sensitivities.
- Support clients in understanding their strengths, setting personal goals, and developing strategies for self-care and emotional regulation.
- Assist clients with employability skills, including CV writing, job searching, interview preparation, and workplace adjustments.
- Work closely with local employers, training providers, and support services to create inclusive opportunities for neurodivergent individuals.
- Provide guidance on reasonable adjustments in the workplace and advocate for clients’ needs in professional environments.
- Facilitate one-to-one and group support sessions, promoting peer support and skill development.
- Stay informed about neurodiversity research, best practices, and employment policies to provide the most effective support.
Requirements
Essential:
- Experience working with neurodivergent individuals (e.g. dyslexia, dyspraxia, etc.).
- Understanding of neurodiversity-affirming approaches, including strength-based support and self-advocacy strategies.
- Experience providing mental health or wellbeing support, particularly in employment or daily living contexts.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to adapt communication styles to meet individual needs.
- A compassionate and person-centred approach, with a commitment to empowering individuals to achieve their goals.
Desired:
- Knowledge of workplace adjustments, disability rights, and inclusive employment practices.
- Experience supporting clients with executive functioning skills, social skills, or sensory needs.
- Training in mental health first aid, resilience-building, or coaching for neurodivergent individuals.
- Postgraduate qualifications in psychology, social work, occupational therapy, or a related field.
- Qualified in the assessment and diagnosis of dyslexia, with experience using standardised tools and assessments.

Job Title: Wellbeing Advisor (Dyslexia Support)

Salary: £26,000 - £28,000 37.5 hours a week
Contract Length: 8-10 Weeks approx
Job Type: Full time | Fixed-term Contract
Pay: £26,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
