Job Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Dance Teacher to join our team at Razzamataz Theatre Schools Chesterfield. The ideal candidate will bring energy, creativity, and a passion for working with children and young people aged 4 to 18. You will be responsible for planning and delivering exciting, high-quality dance sessions that are both skills-based and fun. Our aim is to help students develop strong dance technique, build confidence, and express themselves in a supportive, inclusive environment where they can thrive and have fun along the way.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging dance lessons for children and young people aged 4 - 18.
- Create an inclusive, supportive environment where students can build confidence and enjoy learning through movement.
- Develop students' dance technique, performance quality, and understanding of musical theatre and commercial dance styles in preparation for end-of-year performances.
- Adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles and ensure lessons align with the Razzamataz brand.
- Maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues while ensuring student safety and well-being at all times.
Requirements
- Experience in dance and performance, with a strong foundation in musical theatre and commercial dance styles.
- Previous experience working with children and young people, ideally in a teaching, coaching or mentoring role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage, motivate, and inspire students.
- Knowledge of effective dance teaching techniques and the ability to adapt to different ages and abilities.
- A passion for building confidence, creativity, and performance skills in young dancers.
