Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roller Shutter Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing roller shutters across various commercial and industrial sites. This role requires a strong understanding of construction and mechanical systems, along with the ability to interpret schematics and work with a variety of tools. The ideal applicant will demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to safety and quality. In return the company will provide shared use of Company Vehicle, Uniform, Training and development. Overtime opportunities available.
Duties
- Install, inspect, and repair roller shutters ensuring compliance with safety standards and specifications
- Conduct routine maintenance to optimise operational efficiency of shutter systems
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and structural issues using appropriate diagnostic techniques
- Read and interpret technical schematics, drawings, and manuals for installation and repair processes
- Fabricate or modify components as necessary using hand tools, power tools, welding, and fabrication techniques
- Collaborate with other trades such as carpentry, masonry, roofing, plumbing, or construction painting as required during installation or repairs
- Ensure all work is completed within designated timeframes while maintaining high standards of safety and quality
- Keep detailed records of maintenance activities and repairs performed
Requirements
- Proven experience in electrical systems, welding, fabrication, or construction-related roles
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment used in shutter installation and repair. Training can be provided.
- Knowledge of schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics accurately
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and manual dexterity
- Valid certification or experience in electrical work or relevant trades preferred
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various environments
- Commitment to health & safety regulations on-site
- CSCS, IPAF, PASMA, ADSA qualifications would be an advantage but not essential
- Full UK driving licence
