About the Role
We’re looking for someone to take full ownership of payroll across our practice.
This isn’t just about running payroll — it’s about making sure everything runs smoothly, correctly and with as little stress as possible for both our clients and our team.
You’ll be the person who knows what’s going on, spots issues early, and sorts them before they become problems.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Running weekly and monthly payrolls for a range of clients
- Acting as the go-to person for all payroll queries
- Managing starters, leavers, and changes accurately
- Handling pensions and auto-enrolment
- Dealing with more complex payroll situations (directors, corrections, irregular pay, etc.)
- Making sure everything is compliant with HMRC requirements
- Reviewing how we currently do things and improving processes where needed
- Supporting the team with payroll questions and setting a clear standard
What We’re Looking For
- Solid payroll experience (ideally within an accountancy practice)
- Someone who is confident working independently and taking responsibility
- Comfortable speaking directly with clients and explaining things clearly
- Strong understanding of PAYE, NI and pensions
- Experience with payroll software (Moneysoft Payroll Manager is a bonus!)
- Organised, proactive and able to spot when something doesn’t look right

Pay: £18.00-£19.00 per hour
