SEN Teaching Assistant – Complex Behaviour Needs
Dunbar Education is working in partnership with a specialist SEN school in Bedford to recruit a committed and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant on a permanent basis from September 2026.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dedicated team supporting pupils with complex behavioural, social, emotional and communication needs. The school provides a structured, nurturing environment where staff work together to help every pupil achieve their full potential.
The Role
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with complex behavioural needs.
- Build positive relationships that promote engagement, confidence and emotional regulation.
- Support teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated learning activities.
- Use positive behaviour management strategies to encourage learning and personal development.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and pastoral staff to support individual pupil progress.
- Contribute to creating a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
We're Looking For Someone Who
- Has experience working with children or young people with SEND, SEMH or behavioural needs.
- Is calm, patient, resilient and able to build positive relationships.
- Has strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Is passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning.
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Experience within education, residential care, youth work, support work or similar settings is highly desirable.
