Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Slinger/Banksman to assist with lifting operations on construction sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding crane operators and ensuring the safe movement of loads, maintaining clear communication with the team. This role is vital in supporting efficient and secure lifting procedures, contributing to the overall safety and success of construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Signalling crane operators to facilitate precise lifting and placement of loads
- Ensuring all lifting activities are conducted safely and in accordance with site protocols
- Conducting visual inspections of lifting equipment before use
- Maintaining clear communication with team members during lifting operations
- Assisting with the rigging and securing of loads as required
- Adhering to health and safety regulations at all times
- Supporting other site activities as needed to ensure smooth workflow
Requirements
- Previous experience in construction or a similar environment is preferred
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with crane operators and team members
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written
- Valid driving licence to facilitate site access and movement between locations
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures related to lifting operations
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- A responsible attitude towards safety and teamwork
