Overview
As a Nursery Practitioner at Pumpkin Lane, you will play a key role in supporting children’s early development, building strong relationships with families and contributing to a warm, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
We are looking for an individual who is caring, proactive and confident in delivering high-quality practice in line with the EYFS.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that support children’s development
- Maintain accurate and meaningful learning journeys for key children
- Build positive, trusting relationships with children, families and colleagues
- Observe, assess and track children’s progress, identifying and reporting any concerns
- Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures, sharing concerns with the DSL
- Work effectively as part of a team, contributing to a calm, supportive and organised environment
- Support the daily routine of the nursery, ensuring a safe, clean and well-prepared setting
- Attend staff meetings, training sessions and planning time
- Uphold all nursery policies, procedures and professional standards
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Level 2/3 childcare qualification (minimum) or higher
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain)
- Paediatric First Aid (or willingness to complete)
- Safeguarding and Child Protection training (or willingness to complete)
- Experience in an early years setting is desirable
- Confidence using online learning journals is preferred
- Strong understanding of the EYFS and how to put it into practice
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Passionate, reliable and committed to high-quality care and education
