With over 37,000 stores, the Subway® brand is the largest sandwich chain in the world. Due to continued growth across the UK, our Franchisees are looking to recruit motivated and driven team members to join the Subway® brand.
We are currently recruiting for our New Boucher Road store, Belfast, which is due to open in May.
Subway® SANDWICH ARTIST™s are the face of our Franchisees’ stores. As well as preparing and serving delicious Subway® sandwiches, you will meet and greet guests and deliver exceptional customer service.
Please note:
Training for this role will take place in advance of the store opening and will be carried out in one of our existing locations – either our Titanic Quarter store or Abbeycentre store. Candidates must be willing to travel to these locations for initial in-store training.
Previous experience in food preparation, catering, retail sales and/or customer service is desirable but not essential—because you will receive full training and undertake various University of Subway® courses. What’s more important is being a crew member with a winning attitude.
If you’re currently working in customer service, retail as a sales assistant, in a restaurant, or perhaps you are studying or have recently graduated and are looking to start a career in the food industry, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
Candidates must be available to work day shifts, evenings, and weekends, and be available a minimum of 35+ hours per week. They must be available between the hours of 7:30am – 9:00pm, with shifts scheduled within these times. The candidate must also be willing to pick up extra hours to cover staff holidays, etc.
Responsibilities
- Food preparation including bread and cookie baking
- Ensure food storage and preparation areas are maintained according to Health & Safety and Audit standards
- Comply with Food Code of Practice
- Till operation
- Monitoring stock levels
- Checking in deliveries
- Complete daily and weekly cleaning schedules
- Follow security & safety procedures
- Maintain a safe working environment for employees and customers
- Maintain high personal presentation in the provided uniform to meet Subway® brand and customer expectations
- Work as part of a team
- Deliver a high standard of service when dealing with products, sales, and customer needs
- Opening and closing of the store
- Prepare orders according to customer specifications and company recipes
- Ensure all ingredients are fresh and of high quality
- Maintain a clean and organised work area
- Follow food safety guidelines and regulations
- Assist with other kitchen duties as needed
Experience
- Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of basic food preparation techniques
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong time management skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
As a SANDWICH ARTIST™, you will serve and add value to customer needs in an efficient and friendly manner. In this role, you will promote Subway® brand awareness and ensure hygiene standards are met.

Pay: £10.85-£12.71 per hour
