Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of goods. Responsibilities
- Operate HGV Class 1 lorries, including in compliance with all road safety and traffic regulations
- Conduct pre-journey checks to ensure vehicle safety and roadworthiness
- Safely load and secure goods onto the lorry, ensuring proper handling and adherence to safety standards
- Deliver goods to clients efficiently, maintaining punctuality and professionalism at all times
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery notes and logs
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules or any issues encountered during transit
- Follow health and safety procedures diligently to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and others
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 licence with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with box vehicles and delivery operations
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices in logistics
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks such as loading and securing cargo
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in documentation and compliance requirements
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members
- Flexibility to work varied shifts as required, with a focus on punctuality and reliability
