Locum Sonographer | South East | £40-£50ph | 1-2 months
Castlefield Recruitment is working in partnership with an organisation who are delivering high-quality diagnostic services to Community Health services. Our client is currently seeking an experienced General Sonographer on a temporary basis to support with patient backlogs in the Surrey area.
Rate: £40 -£45 per hour (Umbrella)
Hours: Monday - Friday (8am - 6pm) - No weekend work required
Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing ultrasound scans for patients, helping to reduce waiting list times. The skill mix includes:
- General abdominal – including assessment of the aorta, biliary tract, gallbladder, inferior vena cava, kidneys, liver, retroperitoneum, and spleen
- Gynaecology – including transabdominal and transvaginal
- Renal / bladder / prostate
- Scrotal / testicular
- Superficial masses or lumps in the neck, axilla or groin
- Musculoskeletal pre-steroid injection scans
Duties:
- Ensure high standards of patient care, safety, dignity, and confidentiality at all times
- Accurately report and document scan findings in line with clinic policies
- Liaises with patients and colleagues in a clear, compassionate, and professional manner
- Maintain up to date knowledge of scanning techniques, safety protocols, and relevant clinical guidance
- Participate in clinical audits, CPD and quality assurance activities
- Support smooth clinic operations by working collaboratively with the front of house and clinical teams
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Minimum 2 year of post-qualification ultrasound experience ideally within the UK healthcare system and minimum 6 months recent NHS experience within the last 2 years
- HCPC or equivalent registration as a qualified Sonographer (or equivalent ultrasound qualification)
- Postgraduate qualification in Medical Ultrasound (e.g., MSc/Diploma)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to delivering high standards of patient care
