We’re currently looking for a Senior Structures Examiner to join our growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional looking to take the next step in their career.
About the Role
As a Senior Structures Examiner, you will:
- Conduct thorough visual and detailed inspections across Scotland’s rail infrastructure.
- Assess structural conditions, identify defects, and produce detailed technical reports.
- Lead preparatory site visits and determine examination requirements.
Working Location
While the role is primarily Scotland-based, the successful candidate must be flexible and willing to work UK-wide as required by project demands.
Candidate Profile
We’re looking for someone who:
- Holds STE04 certification with a solid background in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Has a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the UK rail industry, with strong knowledge of Network Rail standards.
- Holds (or is working toward) an HNC in Civil Engineering (preferred).
Additional desirable qualifications:
- Rope Access Level 1
- COSS
- BICS qualification
- Full UK Driving Licence (required)
- Additional STE certifications: STE02, STE05, STE06, STE07 (advantageous)
- Medically fit (subject to Drug and Alcohol screenings)
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Confident planning and delivering work to tight deadlines
