THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
For this role, we are looking for a hands-on and focused engineering consultant who can uphold EDC's approach to quality-driven success. Ideally, you will have a minimum of 2 years Building Services Consultancy Design experience and will be a competent user of Amtech/Dialux, Autodesk Applications. BIM experience would be advantageous, along with commercial & residential sector experience.

You will fulfil electrical design work as required, working to project deadlines.
- You will assist modellers to produce detailed working drawings in 3D and scheme drawings as well as developing the project scope with the design team/client.
This role is primarily office/home based with the occasional representation at EDC client meetings as required. If you can carry out all work in a professional manner, building EDC’s excellent reputation in the industry, you can pave your way for a successful career with EDC.
Follow EDC’s Environmental Management System (EMS), including all related policies, procedures, and training.
Perform duties in a manner that supports the company’s environmental objectives and sustainability commitments.
Work-from-home arrangements to be agreed with the line manager, with an expectation of three days in the office and flexibility to balance business and personal needs.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Degree qualification in Electrical Design Engineering
- Minimum of 2 years of Electrical Building Services Consultancy Design experience.
- Proficient user of the following:
- Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint etc.)
- Autodesk Applications (AutoCAD/Design Review)
- Amtech, Relux or Dialux
- Building Information Modelling (BIM) experience will be advantageous.
- Commercial sector knowledge/experience a strong advantage.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Willing to work on & build your skills in the following items
- The design and specification of electrical building services in a variety of industry and project types, sizes, and complexity.
- Experience and involvement in detailed designs through the full design cycle.
- The following Electrical design areas: Lighting & Emergency Lighting, Small Power and Data, Fire alarms, CCTV & Intruder Alarms, LV Power Distribution and Containment.
- Knowledge of CIBSE, IEC, BS, IS and EN Standards.
- Project management, problem solving, presentation, communication, and IT skills essential.
- Team player with the ability to learn from your colleagues.
