FitzRoy’s Supported Living service in North Walsham supports adults with learning disabilities and autism across two homely bungalows. We’re on the lookout for Support Workers who share our values and want to make a real difference – could this be you?
This role is community-based, with most support delivered 1:1, helping people enjoy day-to-day life — whether it’s a visit to the beach, a trip to the café, or simply doing the weekly shop.
You’ll Need:
- A manual driving licence – essential for using service vehicles to support people in the community
- A positive, caring attitude and the flexibility to work a variety of shifts including weekends
- No prior experience required – just the right values
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Supporting people to enjoy their interests, hobbies, and community activities
- Providing personal care and helping with daily routines
- Empowering people to gain independence and build confidence
- Administering medication and helping with household tasks
- Working closely with the team and families to provide consistent, person-centred support
Disclosure of Criminal Record
Because this post involves regulated activity with adults at risk, it is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions Order 1975). You must therefore declare all convictions, cautions, reprimands, and warnings — including those that would otherwise be considered “spent” — except for those defined as protected under the DBS filtering rules.
Having a criminal record does not automatically prevent employment with FitzRoy. Each case will be considered on its own merits, taking into account the relevance to the role and safeguarding requirements
