Sands Cafe and Deli has opened on the stunning Moray coast by Sandend Beach. We have exciting opportunities to join our enthusiastic and friendly team, with talented management and support already in place.
The kitchen and cafe have been kitted out to a high level with brand new equipment, and we're looking for a part time cook to serve tasty but simple fayre to match the relaxed and cosy atmosphere we are cultivating.
The cafe sits on a bus route and is accessible from the village, there is parking nearby.
We will be opening the doors from 09:00 until 17:00 7 days a week, and so can offer four daytime shifts per week and if you're looking for part time work we're happy to consider your application.
We are seeking dedicated and experienced Cafe Cooks to join our team. The successful candidates will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of meals in a fast-paced environment, ensuring high standards of food quality and safety. These roles offer an excellent opportunity for creative cooks with good customer service to contribute to a welcoming cafe experience, we offer a competitive hourly rate, along with an equal share of any tips.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a range of menu items including vegetarian
- Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet customer demands
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations
- Assist with meal assembly and presentation
- Monitor stock levels and communicate needs for replenishment
- Follow health and safety procedures diligently, including proper handling of food and equipment
- Support team members during busy periods, fostering a collaborative work environment
- Serve food to customers when required, maintaining professional conduct at all times
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or kitchen roles within a restaurant or café setting
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in presentation and cleanliness
- Previous experience in meal preparation, culinary tasks, or serving customers is desirable
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including weekends
