Mechanical Project Supervisor
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Supervisor to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and understanding of HVAC systems, particularly within large-scale new build construction projects. Building purposes will include Hotels, Student Accommodation, Mixed-use office and residential developments, as well as Retirement Living schemes.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities and be able to supervise and lead our supply chain of specialist mechanical contractors appointed to the project. This will include Plumbing and Heating contractors, Ventilation contractors, AC contractors and BMS contractors.
The ideal candidate will possess strong client focused communication skills and be able to work effectively alongside the Main Contractor’s site team, ensuring that excellent working relationships are formed.
The ideal candidate will have good IT skills and be able to work effectively with common Microsoft applications, such as Outlook, Word and Excel.
The ideal candidate will have strong written communication skills and be adept at managing efficient daily email correspondence.
The ideal candidate will have progressed from an installation background and therefore have in-depth practical knowledge, not just theoretical.
The ideal candidate will have excellent planning skills, being able to effectively plan upcoming works, both in terms of labour allocation for the contractors working on our behalf on site and liaising in a timely manner with our procurement team regarding materials needed on site. Adherence to construction programme deadlines is a minimum requirement and surpassing these timelines for the benefit of our company should always be a priority.
The ideal candidate will understand standard construction Health and Safety standards, as well as an understanding of the Quality Assurance and Sign-off procedures expected of subcontractors on a construction project.
To be clear, this is a supervisory role, and an in-depth daily understanding of the works status on site is essential to carry out your duties effectively. Therefore, this is not a solely office-based role and a frequent and continuous presence on site will be expected.
