Are you an experienced Planning Manager looking to take ownership of production planning within a growing manufacturing business?
We're recruiting for an exciting opportunity in Sheffield for a commercially minded planning professional who can lead production planning, improve operational performance and help shape the future of a successful manufacturing operation.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you'll take full responsibility for the Master Production Schedule, ensuring customer demand, production capacity and inventory are perfectly aligned.
Working closely with Production, Supply Chain, Commercial and Quality teams, you'll play a key role in driving efficiency, improving planning processes and delivering outstanding customer performance.
Your Responsibilities
✔ Lead and manage the Master Production Schedule
✔ Deliver accurate production forecasts and capacity planning
✔ Lead the SIOP (Sales, Inventory, Operations & Planning) process
✔ Monitor production performance using KPIs and planning data
✔ Manage inventory levels and Work in Progress
✔ Drive continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives
✔ Coordinate production priorities across multiple departments
✔ Lead and develop the Production Planning team
✔ Improve on-time delivery and operational efficiency
About You
You'll already have experience in a Production Planning or Planning Manager role within manufacturing and enjoy solving complex operational challenges.
You'll also have:
- Experience leading SIOP processes
- Strong ERP and production planning system knowledge
- Advanced Excel and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management
- A proactive approach to continuous improvement
Desirable
Aerospace manufacturing experience
CPIM qualification
Degree in a relevant discipline

Pay: £50,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
