Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and reliable Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting non hazardous bulk liquids (food stuffs) to various destinations, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and customer service. Experience with tanker and commercial driving is highly desirable, along with a strong commitment to responsible driving practices.
Duties
- Operate tanker lorries and other commercial vehicles in accordance with road safety regulations and company policies.
- Plan routes efficiently to ensure timely delivery of goods to clients and distribution centres.
- Load and unload cargo safely, ensuring items are secured properly during transit.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in compliance with legal requirements.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays.
- Adhere to all health and safety standards, including compliance with road traffic laws and company safety protocols.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or commercial driver, preferably with tanker driving experience.
- Valid driving licence suitable for operating large vehicles (category C or above).
- Demonstrate knowledge of safe driving practices and road regulations within the UK.
- Experience with tanker transportation is preferred but not essential.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively across multiple deliveries.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude towards customers and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating responsibility for vehicle safety and cargo security. Candidates must meet all legal requirements for commercial driving in the UK, including holding a valid driver’s licence and passing any necessary background checks or medical examinations relevant to the role.
