Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to provide high-quality support to individuals in care homes and home care settings. The successful candidate will assist with daily activities, promote independence, and ensure the well-being of those in their care. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Support clients with mobility and daily routines, promoting independence where possible
- Follow individualised care plans to meet specific needs and preferences
- Administer medication as directed and ensure proper documentation
- Maintain clear communication with clients, their families, and healthcare professionals
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding if required
- Support clients in engaging with social activities and hobbies to enhance their quality of life
- Document care activities accurately and report any concerns or changes in condition promptly
Requirements
- Previous experience working in a care home or providing home care is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided
- Valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate client transportation when necessary
- Good organisational skills to follow care plans effectively
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Basic IT skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to support others’ well-being
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Flexibility to adapt to different shifts and client needs
