- Leading, motivating and developing warehouse personnel
- Planning workloads and allocating resources effectively
- Managing staff holidays, absence, rotas and performance issues
- Conducting disciplinary and return-to-work meetings when required
- Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintaining stock accuracy and material traceability
- Working closely with other departments to ensure customer requirements are met
- Operating FLTs and overhead cranes when required to support the team

Candidates may come from:
- Steel or metal stockholding businesses
- Metal processing companies

- Industrial distribution operations
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience managing or supervising warehouse teams
- Strong people management and leadership skills
- Experience handling steel, metals or industrial products
- A hands-on approach with a willingness to support the team on the shop floor
- FLT experience (licences beneficial but not essential)
- Overhead crane experience would be advantageous
- Good organisational and problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures within an industrial environment
Desirable (but not essential)
- IOSH qualification
- NEBOSH qualification
- Experience within a metal processing or steel distribution environment
What's on Offer?
- Salary of £40,000 - £45,000 depending on experience
- Performance-related bonus scheme
- Monday to Friday working pattern
- Long-term career opportunity with a growing business
- Supportive and friendly working environment
- Opportunity to make a genuine impact within the operation
If you're an experienced warehouse leader from the steel, metals, engineering or manufacturing sectors and are looking for a role where you can combine leadership with a hands-on approach, we'd love to hear from you.
