Summary
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Yardsperson to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and organised yard environment while supporting daily operations. This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the yard and storage areas.
- Load, unload, and move materials, equipment, and stock safely.
- Carry out local collections and deliveries using company vehicles.
- Ensure deliveries and collections are completed safely, efficiently, and on time.
- Assist with stock control, inventory checks, and material handling.
- Conduct routine inspections of vehicles, equipment, and report any defects or maintenance requirements.
- Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
- Support drivers, operators, and other team members with daily operational tasks.
- Operate forklifts and other yard equipment (training provided).
- Manage waste disposal and recycling in accordance with company procedures.
- Prepare materials and equipment for delivery or collection.
- Provide excellent customer service when dealing with customers, suppliers, and site personnel.
- Any other Ad-hoc duties as required.
Skills and Experience
Essential:
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work in all weather conditions.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
