Role Overview:
Wynnstay Group is seeking a reliable, hardworking and safety-conscious Seed Operative to support the efficient operation of our seed production and distribution activities. This is a varied, hands-on role that plays a key part in ensuring customer orders are accurately produced, packed and dispatched while maintaining high standards of quality, safety and housekeeping.
Reporting to the Plant Manager or Distribution Supervisor, you will assist with the production of grass seed mixtures, warehouse operations, stock control activities and the safe handling of goods throughout the site. You will work as part of a close-knit operational team, supporting daily production schedules and helping to ensure customer orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.
The role requires a proactive individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, is willing to undertake a variety of tasks and is committed to maintaining high standards of health, safety and operational excellence. Forklift duties may form part of the role where the appropriate licence is held.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with the production of grass seed mixtures, including picking, packing and distribution activities.
- Support order picking operations to ensure customer orders are fulfilled accurately and efficiently.
- Assisting with receiving goods into the warehouse and ensuring stock is stored correctly.
- Support stock control activities, including stock checks and inventory accuracy, as well as operating packing lines to assist with the packing of bulk bag cereals.
- Assist with machinery cleaning, maintenance and changeover activities following appropriate training and supervision.
- Carry out general housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
- Operate Forklift Trucks to support warehouse and distribution activities.
- Loding and unloading vehicles, supporting general warehouse operations and handling materials safely and efficiently.
- Follow all health, safety and quality procedures, report any concerns promptly and work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve production and distribution targets.
What we’re looking for:
Essential:
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures, health and safety requirements and quality processes.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment to achieve operational and production targets.
- Ability to undertake manual handling activities and perform the physical requirements of the role.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and adapt to changing operational requirements within a fast-paced environment.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills sufficient to complete operational documentation and stock records.
Desirable:
- Previous experience within a warehouse, production, manufacturing, agricultural or distribution environment
- A Forklift Truck Licence (Counterbalance or equivalent)
- Experience of stock control, goods receiving or order picking activities.
- Knowledge of agricultural products, seed production or related industries
- Experience operating packing machinery or warehouse equipment
