Base Salary: £36,900 per annum
Authorised Person (AP) Allowance: £850 per year
On-call standby payment:
- £110 per week
- 1 in 4-5 rota (~10–13 weeks per year)
- Estimated annual standby earnings: approximately £1,100-£1,430
Call-out & Overtime Earnings:
- Minimum paid 4-5 hours per callout
- Typically 4-10 callouts per week when on-call
- Overtime rates paid at time-and-a-half / double time depending on day worked
- Estimated annual overtime earnings: £8,000-£20,000+ depending on workload and availability
Estimated Total Annual Earnings:
- Low overtime engagement: approximately £47,000
- High overtime engagement: £60,000+ potential
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Multiskilled Engineer to provide electrical and building services engineering maintenance across client properties.
The role focuses on electrical-bias fault finding, repair, maintenance and installation activities carried out on client sites.
The emphasis of this position is on delivering a world-class building services maintenance service, ensuring all electrical systems are safe, compliant and operating efficiently in line with statutory requirements and best practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out scheduled inspections, preventative and corrective maintenance, repairs, adjustments, testing and fault finding on electrical equipment
- Install, maintain, modify and repair electrical systems within public spaces and buildings
- Draft electrical installation plans and technical diagrams
- Ensure all electrical systems comply with national electrical safety standards and regulations
- Supervise electrical installations and provide technical expertise to installation teams, undertaking works where required
- Interpret and work from blueprints, wiring diagrams and manufacturer installation manuals
- Complete work orders accurately and record materials used
- Diagnose electrical faults and advise management on replacement of ageing equipment to prevent hazards
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
- C&G 2382 – BS7671 IEE Wiring Regulations (Current Edition)
- C&G 2391 – Test & Inspection (Current Edition)
- External Low Voltage Authorised Persons qualification
- UK driving licence
- Proven experience in electrical building services maintenance, including fault finding, installation, inspection and testing
- Experience delivering reactive and PPM building services maintenance
- Experience working within FM or building services environments in commercial properties
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety procedures, including risk assessments and method statements
