Overview
We are seeking a friendly and organised Part-time Shop Assistant to join our team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain experience in retail, customer service, and administrative tasks. The successful candidate will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of our shop, providing exceptional service to customers, and supporting daily store functions.
Duties
- Assisting customers with their enquiries and providing excellent customer service
- Operating the till and processing transactions accurately
- Restocking shelves and maintaining visual merchandising standards
- Organising stock and ensuring the shop floor remains tidy and welcoming
- Handling administrative tasks such as data entry and record keeping using IT systems
- Supporting the team with general store maintenance and cleaning duties
- Assisting with inventory management, including stock counts and order preparation
- Managing deliveries and ensuring all stock delivered is checked
- Maintaining hygiene throughout the store
- IT skills to manage order deliveries on day-to-day basis
Requirements
- Previous experience in customer service or retail is desirable but not essential
- Basic IT skills, including familiarity with point-of-sale systems and data entry software
- Administrative experience is advantageous for managing store records efficiently
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour
- Organised, reliable, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Flexibility to work during shop hours, including weekends if required
