Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Team Leader to support children and young people within a residential environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising daily activities, implementing care plans, and ensuring a safe, nurturing atmosphere. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication, and the ability to motivate and guide a team to deliver high-quality care. A valid driving licence and experience in senior or care home settings are desirable.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of staff supporting children and young people
- Develop, implement, and review personalised care plans in collaboration with families and professionals
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of children and young people at all times
- Organise engaging activities that promote development and independence
- Maintain accurate documentation related to care provision and progress reports
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, families, and external agencies to coordinate support
- Use IT systems to record data, update care plans, and generate reports as needed
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Proven supervising or leadership experience within residential childcare
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to lead a team with empathy, patience, and professionalism
- Experience in developing and managing care plans tailored to individual needs
- Driving licence is essential for travelling between locations or community activities
- IT literacy skills for managing electronic records and documentation
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and legal frameworks relating to child protection
- Organised with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Passionate about supporting children and young people to achieve their full potential
Pay: £33,000.00-£36,300.00 per year
