Full time Cook required to work closely with management, and care staff to provide our residents with a balanced nutritious diet.
You will be responsible for the overall management of the catering needs, maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen, completing documentation and participating in the development of weekly food menus. To be successful in this position you need to be a team player with good communication skills and the ability to work on your own initiative. You will also need to be trained to NVQ level 3 in catering and hold a basic food hygiene certificate. Knowledge of HACCP is essential.
Our residents enjoy their snacks and cakes, so the ability to bake would be an advantage!
Free Training, uniform and DBS will be provided. All applicants are required to provide an enhanced disclosure.

· To participate in the preparation, cooking and serving of meals, snacks, cakes etc; in accordance with specified menus.
· Determine the quantities to be cooked and size of portions to be served, taking into account Service Users choice.
· Ensure individuals on special diets or with specific cultural needs are catered for and that choice is always available.
· Complete any necessary cleaning according to the cleaning
· Ensure all the usual “Safe handling of food” processes are followed as required.
· Ensure washing and cleaning of floors, crockery, utensils, work surfaces and other kitchen equipment are cleaned and maintained to meet the necessary hygiene, health & safety standards, in both the kitchen and dining areas.
· Ensure the appropriate PPE is worn at all times and is clean and well maintained.To undertake such other duties as may be required with regard to any social activities being held.
· To understand responsibilities in relation to fire procedures, health & safety, COSHH, infection control, food hygiene and emergency first aid.
· Participate in Inter-departmental and staff meetings.
· To attend mandatory training and other training sessions appropriate to the role.
· Participation in staff supervision and personal development reviews.
· Take responsibility for personal development by keeping abreast of developments in the field of catering for older people
· To undertake such other duties as may be mutually determined from time to time..

Pay: £12.71-£13.95 per hour
