Summary
We are seeking a dedicated, organised and self-motivated individual to join our Public Access team as a Case Handler. This role involves managing communication between our public access clients and barristers, and providing efficient support to ensure smooth case progression.
The successful candidate will be responsible for handling a variety of administrative tasks, maintaining clear communication with barristers and clients, and ensuring that all case information is accurately recorded and managed.
Responsibilities
- Facilitating the smooth handling of public access cases.
- Handling calls and emails from clients and barristers, taking ownership of client enquiries to ensure high quality and timely responses.
- Managing barrister diaries ensuring they are up to date with all necessary details and that barristers have the papers they need for court hearings.
- Responding to other enquiries including requests for details or papers, changing or removing of court hearing dates, changes of barristers, forwarding of papers to the appropriate team and identifying urgent cover if a barrister becomes unavailable at short notice.
- Addressing any informal complaints received and escalating as appropriate to the Professional Standards Manager if a resolution cannot be reached.

The job is hybrid remote - some fixed office days are required on a weekly basis.
