HGV Technician
Salary: Up to £55,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday – Straight Day Shifts
Location: Northampton
The Role
We are currently seeking an experienced and qualified HGV Technician to join our team. This is a full-time, permanent position offering straight day shifts, Monday to Friday, with no weekend work required.
You will be responsible for the inspection, servicing, maintenance, and repair of Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs), ensuring all vehicles are maintained to the highest safety and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on HGVs
- Diagnose faults using diagnostic equipment and rectify efficiently
- Conduct MOT preparations and ensure vehicles meet DVSA standards
- Complete all relevant paperwork accurately and in a timely manner
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment
- Work effectively as part of a team to meet workshop targets
Requirements
- Proven experience as an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic
- Relevant qualifications (Level 3 NVQ/City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent)
- Valid Class 2 (Category C) driving licence – essential
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Good understanding of vehicle safety and compliance standards
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
