Salary: £17-21 per hour DOE + 12.5% Shift Premium| Hours: Shift Pattern 6 Morning (6:30am - 2:30pm), 6 Afternoon (2:30pm - 10pm) and 6 off | Location: Hemerdon Mine, PL7 5BS
Overview
Tungsten West plc is restarting the Hemerdon Tungsten-Tin mine in Plymouth. We’re looking for a reliable, safety‑driven Mobile Plant Operators to join our team and support ongoing projects across the site. If you’re confident operating heavy plant, enjoy working outdoors, and want a role where no two days are the same, this is an excellent opportunity.
Requirements
- Based at Hemerdon Mine, ~10 miles northeast of Plymouth. No public transport to site. Own vehicle essential.
- Valid CPCS or NPORS card for relevant plant
- Proven experience operating mobile plant on construction or civils sites
- Strong awareness of health & safety
- Ability to work independently and travel between sites
- A positive, proactive attitude
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a range of mobile plant (e.g., excavators, dumpers, rollers, telehandlers) safely and efficiently
- Assist with day‑to‑day site tasks, material movement, and general labouring when required
- Follow all site safety rules, RAMS, and company procedures
- Carry out daily inspections, report defects, and maintain accurate logs
- Work closely with supervisors and site teams to ensure smooth project delivery
