Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dog Groomer to join our pet care team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing professional grooming services to a variety of dog breeds, ensuring each pet looks and feels their best. This role requires a genuine love for animals, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a busy environment. The Dog Groomer will play a vital role in maintaining the health and wellbeing of our clients’ pets while delivering a positive grooming experience.
Duties
- Bathing, drying, and brushing dogs of all sizes and breeds using appropriate techniques and grooming tools
- Trimming, clipping, and styling coats according to breed standards or customer preferences
- Checking dogs for any signs of health issues or skin conditions and reporting concerns to pet owners or veterinary professionals
- Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of grooming stations and equipment
- Managing appointment schedules and providing exceptional customer service to pet owners
- Assisting with animal care tasks such as feeding or administering medication if required
- Ensuring the safety and comfort of all animals during grooming procedures
- Educating pet owners on grooming routines, aftercare, and general animal wellbeing
Requirements:
- City and Guilds Level 2 qualification in Dog Grooming.
- Strong understanding of different dog breeds and their grooming needs
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners
- Physical strength and stamina for heavy lifting when handling larger dogs or equipment
- Compassionate attitude towards animals with patience and gentle handling skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Flexibility to work scheduled hours including weekends if required
