Chef (Summer Pop-Up) – Casual Beachside DiningOverview
We are seeking a passionate, high-speed, and resilient Chefs to anchor the kitchen at our brand-new, exciting beach restaurant popping up right on the sands of Bournemouth for the summer season. This is a high-volume, fast-paced role perfect for a chef who loves the rush of a busy service.
You will be responsible for executing a high-quality, casual dining menu featuring summer favorites like artisan pizzas, street tacos, flame-grilled BBQ skewers, stacked burgers, fresh salads, and dynamic sides. Cooking for both a lively dine-in restaurant and a rapid-turnaround takeaway hatch, you will ensure every guest gets a taste of summer perfection even during peak heatwaves.
Duties
- Dual-Stream Service: Masterfully prepare, cook, and plate high volumes of diverse menu items for both sit-down restaurant guests and takeaway packaging simultaneously.
- Thrive Under Pressure: Maintain speed, accuracy, precise presentation, and a cool head during intense, high-volume lunch and dinner rushes.
- Multi-Station Versatility: Confidently manage and pivot across various kitchen stations, including the pizza oven, commercial grill/flat-top, and fresh prep/salad stations.
- Stock & Prep Management: Efficiently manage daily ingredient prep for a varied menu and maintain strict stock levels so the kitchen never runs short during peak beach days.
- Hygiene & Safety: Ensure all food prep areas are kept spotless, organized, and strictly adhere to food safety regulations in a temporary pop-up environment.
- Team Collaboration: Work seamlessly with front-of-house staff to ensure rapid ticket times and ultimate customer satisfaction.
Experience & Requirements
- High-Volume Kitchen Experience: Proven experience as a Line Chef, Commis, or Demi Chef in a high-pressure, fast-paced restaurant or pop-up environment is essential.
- Casual Dining Versatility: Experience cooking high-quality casual dining fare (e.g., pizzas, tacos, burgers, grilled skewers, and fresh salads).
- The Ability to Handle Heat: Strong organizational skills, stamina, and the resilience to work exceptionally well under pressure when the beach is packed.
- Food Safety Standards: Full familiarity with food safety, hygiene management, and strict allergen control across multiple food groups.
- Summer Commitment: Reliability and stamina to commit to the full 3-month summer sprint (July – September).

Pay: £12.21-£15.00 per hour
