Sub Agent Opportunity with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), Supporting Sizewell C
As part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), you will support the building of Sizewell C. Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years. This role will be within the Marine and Tunnels Section.
What will you do?
- Lead day-to-day engineering supervision of the Avonmouth Site setup works, and management of
section engineer(s) and site engineer(s).
- Develop, review, and coordinate Method Statements, Risk Assessments, ITPs, check sheets, and
other required controlled documentation
- Identification of any risks or issues associated to design and engineer ahead of time so that
mitigation & measures can be put in place.
- Undertake daily site inspections and highlighting and Health & Safety good / bad practices.
- Plan and coordinate work fronts with engineering, logistics, temporary works, and subcontractors to
ensure productivity and alignment with programme milestones.
- Support the interrogation of the programme, provide short-term lookaheads, and flag risks to
sequencing, access, or interfaces
- Ensure close coordination with the Temporary Works Coordinator for TW design briefs, permits,
inspections, and removal sequences.
- Lead coordination meetings with subcontractors, feed into weekly progress reporting, and support
commercial teams with records, measures, and change capture.
- Make operational decisions related to sequencing, resource allocation, hold-points, and technical
compliance within delegated authority.
- Review stage programme and assist the planning team with the establishment and accuracy.
- Management of Sub-contractors & workforce onsite
- Involved in the procurement of material i.e material take offs & requisitions
- Ensure continuous communication between delivery team and support functions – commercial,
procurement, engineering & planning teams.
- Report any issues to the Site Agent
What are we looking for?
Knowledge & Skills-Essential
- Strong engineering background within Heavy civils projects, noting enabling and foundation works.
- Previous experience as a sub-agent / section engineer.
- Able to clearly communicate the requirements of a safe system of work to ensure these are followed
and implemented. Also has the ability to stop works if something appears unsafe or if anything
changes.
- Ability to work self-sufficient and identity key tasks for themselves to undertake. Confident to
delegate tasks to section / site engineers.
- Capable of taking ownership of tasks and communication outcomes with clarity.
- Strong work ethic with flexibility to work unsociable hours as required to achieve programme
milestones.
- Proficient IT Skills required for the role i.e Microsoft office, Auto CAD
- Strong communication skills with interpersonal and influencing skills
- Confident and willing to make decisions following consideration of optioneering based of best
available information
- Good standard of English for report writing
- Excellent role model for the team and demonstrates required behaviours
- Able to establish good working relationships with Sub-contractors, Workforce and Client.
