Job Title: Community Hub Cook - 6.5 hours per fortnight (every other Sunday 8.45am - 3.15pm) plus holiday cover.
Overview:
The Community Hub Cook will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the kitchen function of Hwb Yr Orsedd on the days they are working. They will provide quality and affordable refreshments, working with a team of volunteers.
Main Duties:
1. Ensure a professional level of customer service is delivered by all café staff at all times.
2. Prepare hot and cold meals and drinks to order in a timely manner and to a high standard.
3. Develop and manage relationships with customers, volunteers and suppliers.
4. Deal with customer queries in a courteous and timely fashion.
5. Ensure all relevant Health and Safety Policy and legislation are met thereby meeting Safer Food Better Business for Caterers.
6. Ensure all appliances are working correctly and volunteers can operate.
7. Assist in the organising and managing the purchasing of café supplies to enable the café to meet the needs of its customers including:
· Checking stock levels
8. Ensure excellent standards of hygiene and cleanliness of all areas within the hub.
9. Any other duties needed to help achieve our vision, fulfil our mission and abide by the organisation’s values.
Person Specification:
1. Previous experience of working in the food service industry at a similar level.
2. Current Food Safety Certificate level 2.
3. Proven cooking skills and knowledge of food.
4. Motivated and well organised.
5. Supervisory experience with the ability to manage a team of volunteers.
6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
7. Good organisational skills.
8. Previous customer care experience.
9. A strong commitment to community-based services.
