Working closely with the Home Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the home, supporting the development of the team and helping to achieve outstanding outcomes for the children and young people in our care.

Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with and support the Home Manager in leading a successful team and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the home
- Supervise, mentor and support staff members to deliver high-quality care
- Attend reviews and liaise with professionals as part of the wider network supporting children and young people
- Assist in the creation, implementation and review of care plans, placement plans and risk assessments
- Support children and young people with daily activities, family contact, education, community engagement and independence skills
- Promote positive outcomes, emotional wellbeing and social development
- Assist the Registered Manager in ensuring compliance with safeguarding procedures, regulatory requirements and company policies
- Complete a combination of shift-based work and administrative duties to meet the needs of the home
- Take responsibility for delegated management tasks such as health and safety, medication management and petty cash monitoring
- Support recruitment, onboarding and induction of new staff
- Assist in developing the knowledge, skills and practice of Senior Residential Support Workers and Residential Support Workers
- Participate in the home's management on-call rota
Essential Requirements
- Diploma or NVQ Level 3, 4 or 5 in Children and Young People's Workforce, Residential Childcare, or an equivalent relevant qualification
- Willingness to complete the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare if not already achieved
- A minimum of 2 years' experience working with children and young people in a residential care setting
- Experience in a senior, supervisory or leadership role within a children's residential environment
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection and regulatory requirements
- Experience supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties and complex needs
- Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills
- A genuine commitment to continuous learning, development and career progression
- Full UK driving licence (if required for the role)
