Our brand-new care home in Brighton is gearing up for its maiden voyage — and we need an Activities Coordinator with energy, creativity, and a knack for fun to take the spotlight.
This isn’t just bingo and balloons (though, trust us, residents love a good bingo night). It’s about creating moments of joy, laughter, and connection every single day.
What You’ll Be Doing (AKA Spreading Joy)
- Designing an epic activities programme — from quizzes to karaoke, crafts to chair yoga.
- Bringing out the best in residents — even the “I’m not joining in” ones (they always come round).
- Hosting daily activities that are safe, engaging, and inclusive.
- Collaborating with the care team to tailor activities to residents’ needs and abilities (including dementia-friendly fun).
- Planning special events and outings — because sometimes you just need fish & chips at the seaside.
- Keeping track of what works, what sparks joy, and what needs a remix.
- Communicating with families, staff, and residents so everyone knows what’s on the calendar.
You’ll Fit Right In If…
- You’re part cheerleader, part DJ, part event planner, and part best friend.
- You have experience in care homes, especially with dementia care.
- You can turn a rainy Tuesday afternoon into a singalong session.
- You’re organised enough to run a programme but flexible enough to change it on the fly.
