Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and organised Activity Coordinator to join our team in providing engaging and meaningful activities for residents in assisted living and care home settings.
The ideal candidate will have experience in senior care, dementia care, or nursing home environments, with a strong focus on enhancing residents' quality of life through tailored programmes.

Duties
- Plan, organise, and facilitate a variety of recreational activities suitable for residents with diverse needs, including those with dementia or Alzheimer's.
- Assess individual resident preferences and capabilities to develop personalised activity programmes.
- Support residents during activities to promote participation and social interaction.
- Collaborate with care staff to ensure activities align with residents’ care plans and health requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of participation and residents’ responses to activities.
- Encourage family involvement by organising special events or family days.
- Monitor the safety of all activity sessions, ensuring a secure environment for participants.
- Stay informed about best practices in senior care and activity programming to continuously improve service delivery.
Skills
- Previous experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, or care environments specialising in senior care or dementia care is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with residents, families, and team members.
- Demonstrated ability to organise and lead diverse activities tailored to individual needs and abilities.
- Empathy, patience, and understanding when working with older adults experiencing cognitive decline or health issues.
- Knowledge of Alzheimer’s and dementia-related care practices is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to enhancing resident wellbeing.
- Organised with excellent time management skills to coordinate multiple activities simultaneously.
