About the Role
We are recruiting for a Design Manager to join a specialist fire protection contractor delivering projects across the UK. Working remotely, you'll lead the technical design and coordination of fire detection and fire suppression systems on a range of high-profile projects, including mission-critical and critical infrastructure environments.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Design Manager or Senior Design Engineer looking to take ownership of the design function within a growing business.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and technical delivery of fire detection and suppression projects
- Manage technical submissions, design calculations and engineering documentation
- Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams and external stakeholders
- Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards and client specifications
- Provide technical support to project delivery and commercial teams
- Review drawings, specifications and engineering documentation
- Attend design meetings and provide technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle
- Support continuous improvement across the design function
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Design Manager, Senior Design Engineer or similar
- Background within Fire Protection, Fire Suppression, Building Services or MEP
- Experience managing engineering designs from concept through to completion
- Strong understanding of technical documentation and design coordination
- AutoCAD and/or Revit experience
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Data Centre or Critical Infrastructure experience would be advantageous
