Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and proactive Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic logistics team. This role involves handling a variety of warehouse tasks, ensuring efficient storage, movement, and dispatch of goods. The successful candidate will play a vital part in maintaining smooth warehouse operations, adhering to safety standards and quality control procedures. Previous warehouse experience is preferred, but full training will be provided for the right candidate. Duties
- Handling materials including picking, packing, and stock replenishment to meet daily operational requirements
- Operating forklifts and other warehouse machinery safely and efficiently (training provided)
- Managing shipping and receiving processes to ensure accurate dispatch and receipt of goods
- Using warehouse management systems to track inventory levels and update records accordingly
- Loading and unloading lorries with heavy or bulky items, adhering to health and safety guidelines
- Conducting quality control checks on incoming and outgoing stock to maintain high standards
- Organising stock storage areas for optimal space utilisation and easy access
- Assisting with mechanical maintenance or minor repairs of warehouse equipment as required
- Ensuring the warehouse environment remains clean, organised, and compliant with safety regulations
Requirements
- Previous experience in warehousing or logistics is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
- Knowledge of materials handling techniques and mechanical systems is desirable
- Ability to operate forklift trucks safely (certification preferred but not mandatory)
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems or inventory software is a plus
- Physical fitness for heavy lifting, load & unload activities, and standing for extended periods
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail for quality control tasks
- Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills and reliability are essential for maintaining smooth operations
