The Role:
We are currently recruiting for a Plate Rolling Machine Operative to join the team in the busy metal processing department of our Heysham manufacturing and assembly facility.
We’re looking for a hard-working individual able to keep up with our fast-paced work environment, with the ability to work well individually and as part of a team. Flexibility is a key requirement. Previous experience in the manufacturing industry is preferred but not essential as full training will be provided. Some heavy lifting will be required.
Key Equipment:
- Davi Plate rollers (primary focus)
- Bystronic Fibre laser cutter
- Bystronic press brake
- Transfluid tube bender
- Webber Linisher
- Guillotine
Responsibilities:
- Operate the plate rolling machine to form cylindrical and conical shapes from steel plate according to specifications.
- Set up and adjust roller parameters (pinch, pyramid, or initial pinch) for different material thicknesses and diameters.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and troubleshoot mechanical issues as needed.
- Handle heavy lifting of materials and finished products safely and efficiently.
- Collaborate with team members to optimise production processes and maintain a clean workspace.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Ability to handle heavy lifting and materials safely.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations (including circumference and diameter relationships).
- Experience with hand tools.
- Positive, self-motivated attitude.
