The Tickled Trout is an independent, multi-award-winning pub and 2 AA Rosette restaurant in the heart of Barlow, Derbyshire. Renowned for exceptional food, warm hospitality, and a commitment to quality, we are now looking for an ambitious and passionate hospitality professional to join our leadership team as our Restaurant Manager.

Working closely alongside the Chef Patron and Operations Manager, you will be a visible and inspiring leader with a genuine passion for hospitality, outstanding service, and developing people. This is a hands-on operational role where you'll be trusted to help lead the business, drive standards, and contribute ideas that shape the future of the Tickled Trout.
About the Role
As a key member of our management team, you will:
- Lead by example and maintain a strong presence on the restaurant floor.
- Support the day-to-day running of the restaurant and bar operation.
- Inspire, motivate, and develop our front-of-house team to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
- Ensure service standards are consistently delivered to the level expected of a 2 AA Rosette establishment.
- Work closely with the kitchen and management teams to create a seamless guest journey.
- Assist with recruitment, training, and staff development.
- Monitor stock control, ordering, and departmental budgets.
- Maintain the highest standards of presentation, cleanliness, and customer care.
- Identify opportunities to grow the business through events, promotions, and guest engagement initiatives.
- Take ownership of service and operational performance in the absence of senior management.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has previous management experience within a quality restaurant, gastropub, or hospitality venue.
- Is passionate about great food, wine, and delivering memorable guest experiences.
- Has excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Possesses a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
- Understands the importance of teamwork and leading from the front.
- Has experience managing stock, costs, and operational performance.
- Brings creativity, enthusiasm, and fresh ideas to help drive the business forward.
- Is ambitious, proactive, and eager to develop their career within a thriving independent business.
