We are looking for a Veneer Hand to join our flitch veneer team. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role involving the handling, grading, and sorting of raw veneer bundles.
You will play a key part in processing incoming veneer pallets and preparing them for onward use or sale, ensuring accuracy and quality at every stage.
Key Responsibilities
- Turning out veneer bundles from incoming pallets.
- Grading and sorting veneer using our computer system.
- Re-palletising and organising veneer bundles to required standards.
- Handling large volumes (e.g. pallets containing 300+ bundles).
- Maintaining cleanliness of designated working aisles.
- Cutting, building, and repairing pallets.
- Wrapping and strapping pallets using pallet strapping machinery.
- General housekeeping and cleaning across the warehouse.
What We’re Looking For
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Attention to detail when grading and sorting materials.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
- Willingness to carry out a variety of tasks as needed.
- Basic computer skills (for grading system use) are an advantage but not essential.
- Forklift (forktruck) licence is desirable.
Working Conditions
- Physically demanding role involving lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
- Warehouse-based environment working with natural wood materials.
- Full training will be provided on internal systems and processes.

Pay: £12.71-£15.00 per hour
