Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced pub chef to lead our kitchen team and deliver exceptional culinary experiences to our patrons. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for hospitality. This role involves overseeing food preparation, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining high-quality service in a lively pub environment. Duties
- Supervise and manage the kitchen team, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth operations
- Prepare and cook a variety of pub-style dishes, ensuring consistency and quality in presentation and flavour
- Oversee food production, including portion control, presentation, and adherence to recipes
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with regulations
- Manage stock levels, order supplies, and control wastage to optimise kitchen efficiency
- Assist with the development of new menu items in collaboration with management
- Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet service demands
- Oversee serving staff during busy periods to ensure excellent customer service
- Train new staff members on food preparation techniques and safety procedures
- Uphold a positive team environment through effective leadership and communication
Requirements
- Proven experience as a pub chef or in a similar hospitality role with a strong background in food production and cooking
- Supervising experience within a busy kitchen environment
- Extensive knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
- Demonstrable skills in food preparation, culinary techniques, and restaurant service
- Leadership qualities with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively
- Experience in hospitality or restaurant settings preferred
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude
- Previous experience in serving customers and managing kitchen operations is highly desirable
