A Table Cafe, 75 St James’s Street, Brighton BN2 1PA, is looking for an experienced and confident Barista / Front of House team member to join our busy independent brunch café on either a part-time or full-time basis.
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about coffee and hospitality, can confidently prepare consistently high-quality espresso-based drinks with latte art, and enjoys providing friendly, professional service. This is a fast-paced role, so you’ll need to be organised, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple tasks while maintaining high standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare high-quality espresso-based coffees, teas and cold drinks to a consistently high standard
- Confidently steam milk and produce latte art
- Take customer orders accurately and provide warm, attentive service
- Operate the POS system and handle payments
- Maintain a clean, organised coffee station and front of house throughout the day
- Assist with serving food and light food preparation when required
- Ensure food hygiene and food safety standards are maintained at all times
- Restock supplies and monitor stock levels throughout your shift
- Deliver excellent customer service, even during busy periods
Qualifications
- Previous barista experience is essential
- Confident with espresso extraction, milk texturing and latte art
- Able to work independently in a busy café environment
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Comfortable using a POS/till system and handling cash
- Knowledge of food hygiene and food safety practices
- Flexible availability, including weekends
