About the Role
Care Perspectives is seeking a passionate and experienced Deputy Manager to support the leadership and day-to-day management of one of our children’s residential homes.
This rewarding role involves supporting young people aged 10–17 with mental health needs, learning disabilities, and emotional and behavioural difficulties. You will work closely with the Registered Manager to provide high-quality, therapeutic care and help maintain a safe, nurturing, and outcomes-focused environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced senior residential support worker or existing deputy manager looking to progress within a supportive and values-driven organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home
- Deputise in the Registered Manager’s absence
- Lead and support the staff team to deliver high-quality care
- Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and positive outcomes for young people
- Ensure compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards
- Support care planning, risk assessments, and placement reviews
- Assist with recruitment, induction, supervision, and development of staff
- Maintain effective rotas, staffing levels, and training compliance
- Build positive relationships with families, professionals, and external agencies
- Contribute to achieving and maintaining Good or Outstanding Ofsted outcomes
- Participate in on-call duties and provide out-of-hours support when required
About You
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working with children and young people in a residential setting
- Level 3 Health & Social Care qualification (Children and Young People)
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Good understanding of safeguarding and Children’s Homes Regulations
- Ability to work flexibly including shifts, weekends, sleep-ins, and on-call duties
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, child-centred care
Desirable
- Working towards Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification
- Experience in a senior or supervisory role within residential childcare
- Experience supporting young people with complex emotional or behavioural needs
- Knowledge of Ofsted regulations and inspection standards
