Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide high-quality care to individual in his own home. The role involves supporting our male client with daily activities, ensuring their safety and wellbeing, and fostering a comfortable and respectful environment. Previous experience working with clients with ADHD, OCD, Asperger's syndrome highly desirable.
About the client
The client likes art and has previously held his own art exhibitions where he has sold some of his work. He also likes to try and repair small electrical devices, toasters, kettles etc. He also likes cooking.
Hours
Monday, Saturday and Sunday 10 hours per day hours starting and finishing between 8m and 8pm
Duties
- Provide specialised care for individual with ADHD, OCD, Asperger's syndrome.
- Manage behaviour effectively through compassionate behaviour management strategies
- Offer emotional support and companionship to promote mental wellbeing
- Drive clients to appointments or outings as needed, ensuring safety at all times
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns to supervisory staff
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks to ensure a clean and safe environment
Requirements
- Prior support worker experience in ADHD, OCD, Asperger's syndrome.
- Knowledge of patient care practices including medication administration and first aid certification is advantageous
- Valid driving licence for transportation duties, although the client does like taking public transport.
- Excellent communication skills with a caring and empathetic approach
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to support client while away from current home.
