We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating curtainside lorries to deliver goods across various locations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a strong focus on safety, punctuality, and customer service. The position involves delivering goods efficiently while adhering to all relevant road safety regulations and company policies.
Duties
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, ensuring compliance with all legal and safety requirements
- Plan and follow efficient routes for timely deliveries across designated areas
- Secure loads properly to prevent movement during transit
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues promptly
- Complete all necessary paperwork accurately, including delivery notes and logs
- Maintain a professional attitude when interacting with clients and colleagues during deliveries
- Adhere to driving hours regulations and company policies at all times
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 licence
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices for commercial drivers
- Delivery driver experience is highly desirable
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as securing loads
- Excellent organisational skills and punctuality
- Good communication skills and a professional manner when dealing with clients and team members
- Flexibility to work various shifts as required by the business needs
