These roles are based on marine sea sites in remote coastal locations.
Please note that no accommodation is provided or sourced by the employer. Due to the shortage of local housing, accommodation can be extremely difficult to secure in the area. Applicants must therefore be able to reliably commute to and from the site for their scheduled shifts.
About the Role

We are recruiting Husbandry Technicians to join our client's sea site operations, helping to produce high-quality salmon while maintaining the highest standards of fish welfare, environmental responsibility and operational excellence.
Working as part of a dedicated team, you will be responsible for the care, welfare and growth of salmon on marine farming sites. This is a varied, hands-on role in an outdoor environment where no two days are the same.
Key Responsibilities
- Feed and monitor fish appetite to optimise growth and feed conversion
- Operate manual and automated feeding systems
- Monitor fish health and welfare on a daily basis
- Remove and record mortalities, identifying and reporting any concerns
- Check and maintain net integrity and site infrastructure
- Support grading, splitting, treatment and harvesting operations
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and site cleanliness
- Follow all health, safety, welfare and environmental procedures
- Support colleagues and assist with training junior team members when required
- Participate in a weekend rota
What We're Looking For
Previous aquaculture experience is beneficial but not essential. We welcome applications from individuals with transferable skills, a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
Successful candidates will demonstrate:

- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to fish welfare and high health and safety standards
- Practical and hands-on approach to work
- Full UK driving licence essential
Full training will be provided, including ML5 medical certification and relevant industry qualifications funded by the company.
Pay & Benefits
- Starting salary: £28,325 – £30,832 per annum, depending on experience
- Overtime rates:
- 1.5x standard rate on weekdays
- 1.75x standard rate on weekends

Contract Options
Permanent Positions: Available for candidates with relevant aquaculture experience.
Temp-to-Perm Opportunities: Ideal for candidates looking to enter the aquaculture industry.
- £14.53 per hour
- Based on a 37.5-hour working week equivalent
