School-Based Roles | Zen Educate
Zen Educate is partnering with schools to place dedicated Mental Health Support Staff in school-based roles supporting students’ social, emotional, and behavioral well-being. These positions are ideal for compassionate professionals who want meaningful, flexible work in education while making a real impact on students’ lives.
The Role
As a Mental Health Support Staff member, you’ll work directly within school settings to support students who need additional social-emotional or behavioral assistance. You’ll collaborate closely with teachers, counselors, and school leadership to help create safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environments.
What You’ll Do
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students
- Help students develop emotional regulation, coping skills, and positive behaviors
- Support behavior plans and social-emotional learning initiatives
- Assist with de-escalation and crisis support when needed
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students and school staff
- Document progress and communicate effectively with school teams
What Schools Are Looking For
- Experience working with children or adolescents (school, clinical, youth work, or community settings)
- Calm, empathetic, and student-centered approach
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt to different school environments
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, education, counseling, or a related field preferred
- Relevant certifications or mental health training a plus (not always required)
