South Beds are currently looking for a suitable person to join our team of greenkeepers.
South Beds Golf Club is 27 holes of Harry Vardon designed downland golf course in Bedfordshire which first opened in 1892. The Club has one of the best courses in the County which is regularly used by Beds County Golf Union and is unrivalled in its condition throughout the winter months. The Club are committed to enhancing the natural chalk downland features of this unique course.
The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate the following:
-Previous experience as a greenkeeper would be ideal. A NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Sports Turf Maintenance would be an advantage but not vital. Associated industries will be considered...ie groundsmen.
- Reporting to the Course Manager, South Beds Golf Beds are seeking to employ an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual with a strong work ethic to join the team to assist in the preparation and maintenance of the golf course.
- To be able to achieve a high level of attention to detail in all tasks being undertaken.
- To be highly motivated, have a productive work ethic and able to work as part of a close team, and individually.
- A good machinery operator, and appreciation for, basic maintenance would be advantageous.
- Ideally have an interest in Golf but not essential
The Greenkeeper position is full time, based on a 40 hour week with weekends worked on a rota basis. Salary and uniform will be offered commensurate with qualifications, experience and suitability.
Opportunities for further training, development and qualifications will be provided for the successful candidate.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Sports Turf Management Level 2 or above.
- Spraying license PA1, PA2 and PA6.
- Chainsaw license is desirable.
- Experience in greenkeeping or associated fields
Full training will be given to help develop the skills for the right person.
